Although Canada has pledged over $620 million in relief to Haiti, an urgent need for on the ground delivery of emergency shelter, food and water to the over one million homeless from the January 12 earthquake continues with the arriving rain and hurricane season. “One World Art Show & Haiti Fundraiser” presented by Monika Blichar of MAB Ventures Inc. aims to continue awareness and support for the deployment of Haiti’s emergency relief. The event takes place at Science World – 1455 Quebec Street, Vancouver, BC, on May 1, 2010 (7:30pm to 1:00am).
100% of Proceeds to Safewater Nexus for Haiti Relief
Donations for “One World” include original art and services from over 40 artists and local businesses valued at over $20,000. Guests can meet artists, view and purchase original artwork, take part in an amazing silent auction, all while enjoying live entertainment and bar service! MAB Ventures is donating 100% cash from the silent auction and sponsored live paintings for Haiti’s relief through Safewater Nexus (safewaternexus.org).
Safewater Nexus is on the ground delivering urgent supplies to groups all over Port au Prince. “One World” Organizers
Erin K. Productions is sponsoring a promotional video and is the joint venture partner of Monika Blichar of MAB Ventures. The video for the web is an interview of Monika Blichar’s vision to provide arts and entertainment in Greater Vancouver, with a commitment to supporting local and international charities and emergencies.
MAB Ventures is in the process of obtaining a permanent space in the Vancouver area that would accommodate workshops, a retail gallery, work studios and art show fundraisers. This is timely in light of the current to BC arts cuts to support young and emerging artists. (For more details, see the attached “One World” Background.)
