Launch of “the Office” – Rock, Pop, Funk, Dance and Art at Level 1 Lounge at 560, Vancouver, BC on June 1
On June 1st, 2010 (9 pm to 1 am), a new Industry night called “the Office” will be born. This weekly event is specifically created to incorporate music with art, while helping to promote and feature some of Vancouver’s up and coming artists that are involved in the visual arts, music, film, performing arts, fashion and design.
Featured artists for “the Office” launch include Ron Sombilon, Liza J. Lee, Corey Giles, Cat Pino and G-Luve, along with music styling of DJ G-Luve, playing an eclectic mix of music from the 80s and 90s (Rock, Pop, Funk and Dance).
Vancouver has been overlooked in regards to the music and art industry for years and because of this a lot of artists tend to leave the city for greener pastures. There has been a growing underground music and art that is on the rise and from this so are multi-functional venues infusing various forms of art genres.
This event is dedicated in providing a network space for those artists who are developing or have already developed their place in the scene to meet, discuss and create informative ideas at “the Office” in a rotating group show every Tuesday in the Level 1 Lounge of 560.
560 is a unique experience set in what was once the A&B Sound on Seymour, now a stylish and sophisticated New York style club that infuses art and culture into the Vancouver club scene. This four floor multi-media complex has over 28,000 square feet of state-of-the-art sound, design, lighting and visual technology, and boasts three levels of night clubbing: three dance floors, three lounges, Belkin Gallery, Blanket Contemporary Art Gallery and Presentation House Gallery on the top Floor.
Come meet the artists and enjoy lovely drink specials, music and original art on June 1!
