What is World Red Cross Day? 

World Red Cross Day, celebrating the Red Cross Movement and humanitarian efforts throughout the world and in our own communities, is celebrated by 186 National Societies including the Canadian Red Cross. 

This year, the Lower Mainland Region of the Canadian Red Cross is very excited to commemorate the occasion with our 2nd annual celebration and first ever World Red Cross Day Celebrity Soiree taking place on Wednesday, May 7th in the brand new wine room of the prestigious Blue Water Café in Yaletown. 

The World Red Cross Day Celebrity Soiree will be a red-carpet themed cocktail event targeting young working professionals in our community. 

The goal is to raise awareness of and funds for the Red Cross and to recognize potential supporters like you as community leaders while commemorating World Red Cross Day in a way that has not been done before! 

This year’s event will be a stand-up reception taking place on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Canadian Red Cross painting will be auctioned off.
